Project and garden exhibition

The projects and gardens exhibition offers a journey into a Sicilian garden and a professional comparison through the experience of the projects.
Have you designed or implemented a beautiful garden? Do you know any garden that could represent a model, or contains a valuable contribution to be defined as a good example of Sicilian garden? Designers, Gardeners, Sicilians, if you think that some gardens are using the correct resources: earth, sun, water, wind, vegetation, landscape and space, tell us. Your contribution could take part in the exhibition, which will support the event "100Thousand Gardens of Sicily" in the 3 sections:
  • Historical garden: concerning art and conservation, the garden can be a small part of the original and it can be used with different purposes.
  • Garden of tradition: people, climate, materials, history, practices and customs, have deeply influenced the local development of some models of the garden, who are still living through the simple though characteristic elements. Old or current gardens or gardens to be built: tradition permeates through time.
  • Garden of innovation. There is no progress without change. The search continues, starting from the elements of history and tradition to achieve new results following new habits, needs, problems of the 3rd millennium.
The Commission constituted by the members of the Scientific Committee will evaluate the most significant posters according to these objectives. The posters will be exhibited from the 23rd to the 25th of October 2009 at the exhibition center "Le Ciminiere" Catania.
